A Dallas Shopper’s Secret

She wears the cocktail dress + fur once for a society event and then can never be seen in it again. This story is a familiar one at the consignment counter at Clotheshorse Anonymous. Scooping up socialite’s sartorial seconds has never been easier. And by “seconds,” we mean everything from brand new Chanel bags with the tags still on it, to Lilly Pulitzer sundresses and everything in-between. It’s a fashion-loving girls’ dream to browse the racks, and the whole thing becomes even more dreamy when you realize that Helmut Lang jacket is 50% off retail price.

Let me backtrack. Clotheshorse Anonymous has been around for over 40 years dubbing itself a shopper’s paradise and a consignors choice. With flexibility to shop online or go to their showroom (over 6,000 square feet!) they provide shopping at its finest: shoes, handbags, accessories, jewelry, and clothing, often 50-85% below retail. They also carry a few “best of” breeds such as Lululemon and Uggs.

Looking to make a little cash $$ from your closet? Bring in your gently loved belongings to Clotheshorse (they offer the highest earnings in the resale industry for their clients!). They tout their massive shopper base and sophisticated merchandising process to share the profits of sales with consigners starting at 50%! There’s no time like spring to do a little closet clean-out, am I right?!

I’ll be honest, I had the preconceived notion that shopping consignment meant crowded racks, musty smelling clothes, and coming out empty handed, but Clotheshorse feels exciting and full of possibility (probably because the inventory is top notch). Every clothes rack is ripe for a new discovery. The store is light, clean, and well-organized. With inventory that changes daily, we may just have to start stopping by on the reg to see what’s new! Have you been yet? If not, we recommend making it “must-go” on your next shopping trip.

Did you know that you can get a $25 gift card to use at Clotheshorse Anonymous during the month of April? Create a CSF account (for free!) by clicking here, and you’re in! Happy shopping! 🙂
